We are pleased to introduce a shoulder strap option for all of our 100 Series cases. This option is difficult to add as a retrofit so if you will need a strap, be sure to check the appropriate box when you order.

We don't offer the strap for our 300 Series cases because they would be very cumbersome on your shoulder. Add the weight of 3-4 horns and you are better to use the wheels.

For any customers that need to retrofit a previously purchased 100 Series case, you can order a strap on our Accessories page. You will need to pull back the lining to install the strap and the installation requires drilling through the case (don't drill through the lining). If you would prefer to have us retrofit your cases, please send it back to us. We will bill you only for the strap and the return shipping - installation is free.

Raw Brass cases are selected by traveling trumpet players because of their proven durability. Ted Curson recently sent us these shots of his custom Yellow & Royal Blue Model 111 case. These bright colors are a lot of fun and it's sure hard to lose this case!

Ted is perhaps best-known for recording and performing with Charles Mingus.

Curson got interested in playing trumpet through the fact that the local newspaper salesman had a silver trumpet that he was playing on the streets while selling newspapers. Curson's father could not afford a trumpet and besides, he wanted Ted to become an alto player like his idol, Louis Jordan. Finally, when Ted was 10 years old, his father found an old trumpet for him in the Navy Yard. He soon after formed a band, the Bebop Trio, with friends from the neighborhood.
